deep clean of office premises

You may not believe it, but the cleanliness of your business premises speaks volumes. It tells your staff that you care about the environment they work in, you want them to be comfortable and you are prepared to invest in their good health and wellbeing. It tells your customers that you have pride in your business and everything it does. It tells all your stakeholders that you pay attention to details, you care, and your company cares too.

In order to maintain that level of hygiene and cleanliness, it is important to carry out a deep clean of your premises on a regular basis. How often is a matter of preference and is usually governed by the size and nature of the business but for most medium-traffic businesses, a deep clean twice a year will pay dividends.

Why deep clean?

As we’ve already mentioned the positive image of your company can be enhanced by clean and tidy premises, but that’s not the only reason why you should invest in regular deep cleans. Just like at home, normal day to day cleaning doesn’t include all the hard to reach areas that are prone to harbouring germs, dust and dirt. If you want to keep your staff healthy (and reduce the number of expensive sickness absences) it is important to make the environment they work in hygienic and pleasant. Regular cleaning can also extend the life of carpets, flooring and exterior fittings like fascias and guttering.

What would a deep clean include?

It’s important to discuss this with your provider but generally, starting from the top down, everything will be cleaned and disinfected, thoroughly. All those frequent touch points including door handles, light switches, water coolers, and computer hardware, and all those nooks and crannies no-one dares to go (including behind radiators). Ceiling fans, light fixtures, bookshelves, pot-plants, chairs, desk tops and legs- you get the idea- nothing is left untouched.

The germ harbours including the kitchen, washrooms and break room will be blitzed. It’s a good idea to advise staff that all out of date food in the fridge will be destroyed or ask them to take their personal supplies home whilst the cleaning is taking place. All appliances will be cleaned inside and out.

Carpets will be shampooed, floors scrubbed and buffed, and in high traffic areas, such as reception, replacement mats and flooring may be recommended, if they cannot be adequately cleaned.

In short, your business space should be sparkling by the end of a deep clean and you should be able to, though we appreciate that you probably won’t, eat your dinner off the floor.

Outside, our specialist teams and equipment can clear guttering, revive cladding and fascias, clean and jet wash, and even clear refuse.
