The worthy recipient is Little Haven’s Children’s Hospice, Monthind Clean’s chosen charity for 2017. The only children’s hospice in Essex, Little Havens provides care and support for children aged 0-19 from Essex and London. Their incredible work is inspiring and Monthind were honoured to have a special guest at the golf day, who spoke to us all about how Little Havens supported her family.
Alli Thumbwood’s son Jack was just 14 when he passed away in 2010. We heard from Alli how Jack was quite a character who loved music and football, and how Little Havens was a home-from-home that enabled him to enjoy fun times and create happy memories with his mum Alli, dad Jim, sister Sophie and his many friends. Alli gave an emotional insight in to the support Little Havens gave the family up to, and after Jack’s passing, and it is fair to say there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. It was a brave step for Alli, and no doubt contributed to our record-breaking auction total, so huge thanks to the Thumbwood family.
